Circus arts have become a central part of my life and work, please check out www.circusalchemy.com to fill all your circus needs. I am an emerging director of circus shows.

    Fire:
I am a fully insured fire performer, skilled in poi, staff, and fan spinning as well as fire eating. I have performed for corporate events, Lunacy Cabaret, television, community events, and private parties. Contact me with inquiries.

    Stilt:
I am competent, capable, costumed, and available for performances at any event with a ceiling 10' or higher. This section also shows some of the costumes I've made for stilters.

    Clown:
Much has been said about clowns in our society, they are loved and feared, and there are as many types of clowns as there are... clowns. I trained a style of clowning called "Pochinko", after Richard Pochinko, a Canadian working in Toronto in the 1980's. Click here to find out more about him. I studied with John Turner at the Clown Farm in 2009.
I have a variety of clown characters, not all of whom are family-oriented, and I can always invent more to suit a situation.

Someday you might see my stilting clown on fire. Fun!

  • performance/installation

In 2005 I began developing a style of performance that I call "moving meditation". I have created several "modules" by taking certain elements that I'm interested in and applying them in differing combinations. Those elements are:

    • authentic movement and impluse-based dance
    • audience interactivity, turning spectators into participants
    • extreme slowness leading to connection with breath and "self" - contrary to fast-paced urban life
    • exaggerating aspects of myself to portray humanity or reflect qualities we can all identify & empathize with

By presenting my audience with a living, slow-moving, strange and genuine character as interactive sculpture, I am trying to incite and inspire the participants. An ordinary day walking through the subway system can be completely changed by the sight of a mysterious character dancing down the tunnel. Or at least it could cause a smile.

I have found some success in sharing this type of performance with audiences and other artists as site-specific installations as well as entertainment.
